By signing the
agreement, I agree to participate in the Four-Year Graduation Guarantee
Plan.
The university will ensure that graduation in the allotted time span will
not be delayed by the unavailability of courses.
If I choose to cancel this agreement at any time, there is no penalty for
doing so.
I agree to satisfy the
following terms: 1.
Enter
Arkansas State University-Jonesboro as a first year student (freshman) in the
fall semester and choose a major that qualifies for the Four Year Graduation
Guarantee Plan so that I can prepare to begin my degree plan when I start at the
university. If I did not
submit a signed “Four-Year Graduation Guarantee Plan Agreement” during
“New Student Orientation,” then I must submit the form to my
department/college office by no later than October 15
of
the fall semester. This deadline is
to ensure that I am aware of my obligations to fulfill the plan as I prepare
appropriately for advisement and enrollment for the spring semester. 2.
If
I elect to change majors and wish to continue in the Four-Year Graduation
Guarantee Plan, I may do so only if I can still meet all
requirements for the new major by my planned graduation date.
However, I understand that I may change majors at anytime and withdraw
from the plan without penalty. 3. Complete
the following general education requirements during the first 45 credit hours of
enrollment: ENG 1003, ENG 1013,
MATH 1023 (or equivalent/ higher level math course as required for my major),
and one course from the Critical Thinking core. 4.
Satisfy all prerequisites prior to enrollment in any courses requiring
such. 5.
Have my class
schedule approved by my official departmental advisor and register for classes
each semester during my designated registration period (registration must be
completed by the last official day of class of the fall or spring term preceding
the next enrollment). For courses required by the major and for
graduation, I must accept any available section that can be accommodated in my
class schedule. I understand that
no special scheduling accommodations will be made for work or other
extracurricular activities. 6.
Monitor my own progress, and seek advice from my adviser, so that I may
stay on track toward graduation in four years. 7.
Maintain a current e-mail address and permanent address so that I may be
contacted as needed by the university. I
may make changes to these addresses at any time in Web for Students. 8.
Complete 30-36 hours of credits each year for four years, as required by
my major, and meet all degree progress checkpoints. 9.
Maintain good academic standing as determined by the department and
college offering my major. 10.
Successfully complete all courses (as defined in the Undergraduate
Bulletin for my major) with the appropriate GPA as required for graduation.
Any failed course will void the guarantee. 11.
Should the need arise for me to drop a course, I must first meet with my
advisor to determine if the course can be completed prior to the beginning of
the next academic year (fall term). If
I cannot meet the appropriate course sequencing or earned credit hours as
required, the guarantee will be voided. 12.
Attend summer school, as may be required, to meet degree requirements or
the minimum number of hours per academic year. 13.
Notify the department chair/dean of my major if I am unable to register
for a required course that is a degree progress checkpoint by submitting a
“Notification of Unavailable Course Form" prior to the beginning
of the term in which the course is needed (form must be submitted by the last
official day of class of the fall or spring term preceding the next enrollment).
General education courses are excluded. 14.
Meet with my academic advisor to complete the “Graduation
Progress Report Form” following the completion of 75 credit hours but
prior to the completion of 90 credit hours.
15. Apply for graduation by the appropriate deadline of the semester in which I am scheduled to graduate. 16.
Make timely annual application for all necessary financial assistance. 17.
Additional events based on my actions that may void the guarantee include
(although not inclusive) the dropping of required courses without advisor
approval, withdrawal from the university, administrative drops due to
nonpayment, and disciplinary actions. If I
comply with all of the conditions, but I am unable to graduate due to the
unavailability of a course (courses) specific to my major requirements (general
education courses excluded), the university department/college offering the
major will choose one of the following: 1. Allow me to graduate in the given time period by giving me priority registration for the next term, OR 2.
Allow me to graduate in the given time period by substituting a different
course (or courses). 3.
If the university’s inability to provide this course delays my
graduation beyond four years, the university will pay the tuition (fees
excluded) for any additional required course(s), provided I have met the other
expectations listed above in order for me to graduate within the next year. These procedures will
constitute the exclusive remedy for the Four-Year Graduation Guarantee Plan.
The university is under no obligation to provide these adjustments unless
I submit a written request using the “Notification of Unavailable
Course” form for accommodation to the college offering the degree
prior to the end of registration in the term in which I must enroll for the
course(s) in question.
